McWeeny was named interim dean of the college in August 2005...?Following an extensive national search, we recognized that Chuck was the best person to serve as dean of the College of Fine Arts. During his time as interim dean, Chuck has been a strong advocate for the mission and vision of the College of Fine Arts and Ohio University,? President McDavis said. ?Under his leadership, he has sought support for creative research through the allocation of Vision OHIO implementation funds, focused on African Arts by establishing a new faculty position in that area, and taken steps to increase annual planned giving to the college.? ..McWeeny, who served as associate dean for the college for four years before being named interim dean, will oversee the six fine and performing arts schools in the college: the schools of art, dance, film, music, theater and interdisciplinary arts.
