Laura Ulmer and Jerome Williams chat during the activities fair held for the 2006 freshman class on the College Green...OPENING SCHOOL IN STYLE -- Members of the 2006 freshman class at Ohio University will get their college careers off on the right foot, both literally and figuratively, with the traditional march through the College Gate at approximately 3:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4. Following the President's Convocation at 2:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center, the new Bobcats will follow "The Most Exciting Band in the Land," the Marching 110, from the Convo for the trek up Richland Avenue toward the College Green as they officially begin their college careers..Once on the College Green, representatives of more than 200 student organizations across campus will have displays set up to introduce the newest Ohio University students to the many ways to become actively involved in campus life..It is a colorful tradition that captures the spirit of college life. It also makes for tremendous photo and video opportunities for a unique twist on the conventional moving-in activities as the academic years of schools, colleges and universities across the state hit full stride over Labor Day Weekend.
