MIDDLETON.DEAN OF COLLEGE OF EDUCATION..ATHENS, Ohio ? Renée A. Middleton, Ph.D., has been named dean of the College of Education at Ohio University, effective Aug. 14, 2006, President Roderick J. McDavis announced today. ..Middleton is currently director of research, human resource development and outreach at Auburn University (Ala.), a position she has held since 1994. Middleton is a tenured professor in the department of Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology and School Psychology in the College of Education at Auburn University. ..As dean, she will oversee the college's three departments: Counseling and Higher Education, Educational Studies, and Teacher Education. ..?Dr. Middleton is the ideal person to serve as dean of Ohio University's College of Education because of her proven abilities as a strong academic leader,? McDavis said. ?In her current role at Auburn University, she has ensured continued support for important initiatives, including research and diversity.
