ATHENS, Ohio -- Martha Green Vigor, 92, who earned a bachelorís degree in education from Ohio University in 1935, will return to the Athens campus Friday, Oct. 7, for the first time since she graduated..The visit marks the fulfillment of a wish that Vigor, a resident of the Laurel Lake retirement community in Hudson, Ohio, expressed through the Second Wind Dreams program. Similar to Make a Wish, the program grants the dreams of nursing home residents. Laurel Lake staff members grant many of their residentsí wishes without assistance from the national Second Wind Dreams organization, and thatís the case with Vigorís wish..Accompanying Vigor will be two other Ohio University alumni: music therapist Stephanie Lichtman, who earned a bachelorís degree in music therapy in 2001, and driver Ann Wright, who attended the university in the 1970s..Vigor will be available to talk with any interested media representatives at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Konneker Alumni Center. Her day also will include a drive around campus and stops at her college sorority, Pi Beta Phi, and McCracken Hall.
